STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Community Day Center for Children’s mission is to empower children with positive skills that will help them become capable adults.


OUR PHILOSOPHY

  1. To provide a culturally diverse atmosphere that helps children evolve through social interaction.

  2. To provide a fun, yet stimulating environment filled with age-appropriate materials, which encourage exploration, trial-and-error learning and the development of competence.

  3. To provide an atmosphere where family members are recognized and treated as the most important people in the life of each child.

  4. To support the individuals who are the strength of the program - the professionals who work with the children.

OUTCOMES FOR STUDENTS

  • Involvement in a culturally diverse atmosphere where each child learns through social interaction.

  • Being a participant in a fun, exciting environment filled with age-appropriate materials, that encourage exploration, trial-and-error learning and the development of competence.

  • The staff encourages each child to gain problem solving, conflict resolution and self-help skills. Obtaining these skills will assist in the gradual development of age-appropriate independence.

  • Positive attitude development towards learning through individual and group experiences that promote general cognitive growth.

  • The staff promotes physical development with emphasis on health, nutrition and safety.

OUTCOMES FOR STAFF

  • Provision of a work environment in which staff can meet individual needs and work as a team toward their common career goals.

  • Orientation, in-service training, feedback and evaluation enable staff members to function more effectively in their classrooms.
